Here is everything you will need to make it:
- popcorn seeds 80 grams
- any kind of vegetable oil (I am using sunflower oil 1 full tablespoon)
- salt (to your taste, I'm using about 1/2 teaspoon of salt)
- granulated sugar (50 grams)
- vanilla (a pinch; I'm using the powder version. You can even not put vanilla at all if you don't want for some reason. )
- 1 tablespoon of water
From this amount of ingredients you will get a medium-sized bowl of popcorn. If you want more you can double the ingredients.
Now let's make the popcorn!
- Take a medium-size pot with a lid and put it on the high heat. Wait 1-2 minutes until the pot heats up properly. When the pot heats up enough drizzle 1 tablespoon of oil. After waiting for a few seconds add the popcorn seeds and immediately close the lid. You should always put the stove on the high heat because the seeds need a very high temperature to open up.
- After a few seconds you will hear the seeds jump up. Wait until you don't hear the popcorn seeds hop up. Then turn off the stove and empty the ready popcorns into a bowl.
- Add the salt and give it a good stir. I personally like plain popcorn with a little bit of salt. If you are like me you can stop here and enjoy your popcorn. If not the continue and sweeten the popcorn with caramel sauce.
- Take 50 grams of granulated sugar and 1 full tablespoon of water. Mix them together in an enamelled bowl and put it on the heat. Add a pinch of vanilla and boil.
- Stir it consistently until it thickens a little bit and has a yellowish color. Pour the caramel sauce into the bowl with popcorn and mix it thoroughly.
- Your yummy sweet and salty popcorn is ready.
- I hope you will try this recipe one day. If yes I will be happy to know your opinion about it. I hope you had a nice day! See you soon. Bye!!!
